Micro-Needling

Micro-needling is a really exciting procedure. The process involves stimulating the layer just under the skin to produce more of your own collagen.

Vivienne uses an Ultraceuticals Microneedling Wand which is a small hand-held pulsating wand with tiny microthin needles on the end. Passing it repeatedly across the skin stimulates the cells which make collagen. They increase in number , and they work faster. Your skin produces more of its own collagen , and gradually smoothes out fine lines , fine wrinkles , crepe like appearances , and orange-peel appearances. More collagen in the skin also means more hydration. The skin looks and feels better , improving subtley with each treatment.

The skin also keeps improving for a few months after each treament. Micro-needling is a really affordable and comfortable procedure. Local anaesthetic cream is applied first , and the numbing effects make it one of the most comfortable procedures available. There is no heat , and the skin just looks red afterwards. This usually fades to normal by the next day. There is no "down time" other than having the procedure performed , which usually takes about 90 minutes from start to finish.

The best results come with regular treatments. Expect to have at least 5 or 6 treatments in your first 8 - 12 months and then a top up treament every 6 months after that.

Combining Microneedling with Micro-dermabrasion , and mild chemical peels can give even better overall effects.
